Career Counsellor (Remote)
About the role
You'll be the first human voice prospective learners hear from Virtual Tech Box — helping them pick the right track (DevOps, DevSecOps, Cloud, Data Engineering) based on their background and career goals. You convert warm leads into committed students through clear, empathetic guidance — no hard-selling, just thoughtful matchmaking. VTB's learners are engineers and career-switchers who care about real production work, not textbook theory. Your job is to understand their starting point, explain which cohort fits them, and see them through to enrolment.
Responsibilities
- Own the lead pipeline in the CRM — qualify, follow up, and nurture every warm lead.
- Run discovery calls to understand each learner's background, goals, and constraints.
- Recommend the right course / cohort honestly — including saying "this isn't the right fit" when it isn't.
- Track and improve your conversion metrics week over week.
- Partner with marketing on outreach copy and campaign feedback.
- Document recurring objections and learner insights for the product team.
- Hit monthly enrolment targets without resorting to pressure tactics.
What we're looking for
- MBA in Sales / Marketing (or equivalent commercial program).
- 0–6 months of experience — freshers are welcome.
- Excellent written + spoken English; Hindi or regional languages a strong plus.
- Warm, curious, genuinely interested in helping people — not pushy.
- Strong note-taking and CRM discipline; structured thinker.
- Self-starter with remote-work maturity (own setup, focus, accountability).
